Trustee Rodgers highlights student wins at state and regional competitions

Trustee Jenny Rodgers reported to the Rice CISD Board of Trustees that several student groups returned from recent competitions with strong results. She said the Ag Mechanics team earned blue ribbons in San Antonio and that all three school bands performed well at UIL. Rodgers also noted the One Act Play will compete at the Bi‑District area competition and that track, soccer and the district BBQ team are off to good starts.
The report was given during the board member reports portion of the March 16 meeting. Rodgers framed the successes as evidence of broad extracurricular engagement across agriculture, fine arts and athletics.
