The Rice Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Feb. 23 to approve the consent agenda, which included minutes from Jan. 12 and Jan. 20, monthly financial reports and budget amendments.
Superintendent Kenny Center told the Board the district’s total enrollment is 1,280 students. Trustees also heard brief reports from board members noting that Senior Serve raised $10,000 and that the girls powerlifting team won their meet. Staff announced upcoming events including Rice CISD hosting the UIL Concert/Sight-Reading Contest and a Theatre Arts One Act Play production of Hamlet. The Board recorded no public comments at the meeting and took no action on Items 11–13 (the 2026–27 school calendar and two cheerleader constitutions).
