Town staff reported that recent potable-water samples showed no contamination, while the town’s reservoir was measured “3–4 inches up at night” from normal levels. Officials said extra pumping and limited staff hours are being used to maintain service amid drought conditions.
Public-works staff and Quality Water discussed leak detection options (including free leak-detection resources), a need for a butterfly valve and other hardware upgrades, and chemical adjustments to address high magnesium levels. Councilors were told the sludge pond is partially cleared, with one section cleaned and concerns noted about rock and use of the sewage truck.
Mayor Lexie Mayfield read an email from Ryan Holcomb explaining that some newly installed meters were “zeroed” and that estimated reads and unauthorized adjustments had affected billings; staff said mid-cycle meter issues had been corrected.
