Board recognizes student achievements across arts, athletics and FFA

Board members and staff celebrated student achievements across multiple programs. Miss Sanford introduced the holiday card contest and announced, "The winner for the 2025 holiday card art contest is Chrislyn McFadden from doctor Joy Shaw Middle School." Presenters from band, choir, dance, theatre, cross country and volleyball listed students who advanced to area or regionals and named award winners and national qualifiers.
Jericho Thomas, theatre director, noted the Pride and Prejudice company was one of six Texas schools chosen to perform on the main stage at the Texas Thespian State Festival and named students and technicians who earned superior ratings and national-qualifier status. Band, choir and dance directors recognized students who made all-region or all-district ensembles and listed those students present at the meeting. Athletic staff highlighted cross-country regional qualifiers and the volleyball team's 30-12 season with multiple all-district honors.
Board members and attendees applauded the students and were invited forward for photos and brief remarks. Staff emphasized the importance of community support and encouraged parents to remain for the recognitions so students and families could be acknowledged properly.
