The superintendent delivered the monthly facilities report, saying recent vendor visits uncovered multiple maintenance needs including a welding-booth extractor that is not removing fumes and roofing problems that require insulation and drainage fixes. "Kids are breathing it in pretty bad," the superintendent said when describing the welding booth's current condition, and urged the board that parts and repairs are needed.
He laid out two roof-repair options presented by an installer: a rubber coating that would run to the second-level roof (about $80 per square foot) and a steel option (roughly $12 per foot), and said the installer estimated the seal would extend the roof's life "about 12 to 15 years." He also reported that a drain assembly part is roughly $200 plus local plumbing labor and that code requires two drains where the system currently has only one.
The superintendent reported Convergent technicians recently corrected bell and clock timing and installed a Starlink connection for monitoring. He framed the roofing work as a near-term priority and said contractors hope to start in about two weeks, weather permitting.
