The Rockdale Independent School District Board of Trustees on May 12, 2026 canvassed the May 2 general election returns provided by the Milam County Clerk’s Office and approved a resolution declaring Janice Keen duly elected Trustee, Place 6, and Wesley Janak duly elected Trustee, Place 7.
President Charles Miles read the official returns and the Board, acting under Texas Election Code §67.004, voted to adopt the canvass resolution. "Motion by Jason Barcak, second by Amy Casas that the Board, as the canvassing authority for the Trustee election, canvass the results of the May 2, 2026 General Election of the Rockdale Independent School District by approving the Resolution declaring the said Janice Keen be duly elected Trustee, Place 6 and the said Wesley Janak be duly elected Trustee, Place 7 to fill the term of their respective offices for the three years ending in the month of May, 2029," the minutes record.
The minutes include vote breakdowns for each candidate: Place 6 totals — Janice Keen 332 votes; Susan Pantaleón 137; Sharee Mitchell 91; and Place 7 totals — Wesley Janak 318 votes; Julia Cardona 211; Quinn Kearney 32. The canvass motion is recorded as carried with six trustees voting For (Miles, Barcak, Casas, Keen, Laughlin, Heintze) and zero Against on that motion. The resolution finalizes the district’s certification of the May 2 election results.
