The board approved a resolution designating up to ten non-business days for purposes of calculating response deadlines under the Texas Public Information Act for calendar years 2026 and 2027. Mrs. Flores explained the legal effect: designated non-business days do not count toward the statutory timeline for responding to public information requests when district offices are closed.
The motion to approve the non-business-day designations was made by Tracy Hubert Beadle and seconded by Becky Gutierrez and passed unanimously among members present (6–0, Teresa May absent). The district will publish the calendar of non-business days and apply them when calculating response dates for PIA requests.
