During the Jan. 21 Riviera ISD board meeting Superintendent Ms. Dobson said administration will present administrator contracts in March and teacher contracts in April to align with Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) timelines. The change applies to principals, directors and coordinators and not to the superintendent's contract, Ms. Flores clarified for the board.
Ms. Dobson also shared an invitation to a recognition dinner tied to the Livestock Show and asked trustees to note planned training dates: a Superintendent Collaboration Team training March 11 (evening), an EISO board training tentatively April 29 in Ricardo (valid for two years), and TASB Spring Training April 7 at Texas A&M-Kingsville (TAMUK). She gave advance notice about Senate Bill 11 (daily prayer time) as an informational item to be discussed in February.
"To align with TASB timelines, administration reported that administrator contracts will be presented in March, while teacher contracts will be presented in April," the minutes record. The board did not take immediate action on these schedule changes at the meeting; the items were shared for informational planning and future discussion.
