Riviera ISD trustees approved payments to Education Service Center Region 2 for Stronger Foundations K–5 and 6–8 agreements and authorized non‑coaching stipends funded through grant awards.
Ms. Moreno told the board the district received notice of award for a Stronger Foundations grant for grades 6–8 and will provide a $2,000 stipend to the De La Paz math teacher and additional compensation to a site supervisor supporting the program. Contracts with the selected provider, Service2, require board approval because amounts exceed $25,000. "Because the contract amounts exceed $25,000, Board approval is required according to district policy," Ms. Moreno said.
Trustees approved non‑coaching stipends for the 2025–2026 school year and motions to make payments to ESC Region 2 for both K–5 and 6–8 Stronger Foundations agreements (motions by Becky Gutierrez). The district clarified Service2 staff will support teachers under the grant and are not being hired as classroom teachers.
