The Board entered executive session at 6:32 p.m. under the Texas Open Meetings Act to discuss several items: personnel matters under Section 551.074; student matters under Sections 551.082 and 551.0821; a board member resignation and the vacancy-filling process; and consultation with the district's attorney regarding legal issues connected to the resignation and vacancy. The superintendent's goals for 2025–2026 were also discussed in closed session.
Trustees returned to open session at 8:27 p.m. and took no formal action on any of the executive-session items during open session. The agenda included an item to discuss and possibly act on the process for appointing a board member to fill the vacancy; the transcript records no appointment at the Sept. 24 meeting.
