Ald. McDowell urges neighbors to report late-night disorder; council offers police support

Ald. Wanda McDowell told the council she had received complaints about a nearby house where people were fighting and partying late into the night, waking neighbors and creating fear of retaliation among residents. McDowell urged residents that “you do not have to live like that” and encouraged them to call police and council members for help.
Ald. William Barron advised residents that they can call police anonymously and that repeated calls should lead to regular patrols in problem areas. Mayor Agpawa asked the chief for more information and said council members will accompany staff to address visible problems when needed. The exchange was part of council remarks near the end of the meeting and did not result in new ordinances; staff said they would follow up with patrol plans and neighborhood outreach.
