Markham council approves five new business licenses, including truck repair and pet services

At the April 1 meeting, the council opened the floor to a series of entrepreneurs seeking city business licenses and approved five applications by unanimous roll call. Applicants described plans to operate marketing services (5 Flavorz Marketing), expand a truck repair business (365 Truck Repair Markham LLC), move a long-running pet-care operation into the city with boarding, daycare and a pet bakery (4 Paws Playhouse), and operate diesel repair and vehicle-recovery/remarketing businesses (77 Lanes Diesel Repair LLC and Assets Biz Corp & Recovery).
“What we will do is work with different businesses to help them get established and marketed properly,” applicant Mr. Ketchum told the council. Inspections staff confirmed that vehicle-repair sites met current requirements and aldermen said they had spoken with applicants about being good neighbors. Each license was approved after the applicant’s remarks and the council’s motion to approve.
The approvals included assurances (in the record) that required paving, inspections and ICC or state certifications where applicable would be completed prior to full operation.
