Riviera ISD trustees voted unanimously Aug. 25 to adopt the district’s 2025–26 fiscal year budget and to set the ad valorem tax rate at $0.767700 per $100 of property (Maintenance & Operations $0.767700; Interest & Sinking $0.000000). Becky Gutierrez moved to accept the budget, and the motion passed 7–0.
Board members tabled the budget and tax‑rate items earlier in the meeting to allow corrections to be made to budget documents. After the corrections were provided, updated materials showed an increase in the district general fund balance from $118,000 to $128,724. According to meeting records, no members of the public offered comment during the public hearing. “I make a motion we accept the 2025‑2026 fiscal year budget as presented,” Becky Gutierrez said when presenting the motion.
Administrators said the updated budget documents reallocated funds between accounts without using fund balance to close out fiscal year 2024–25. Board actions followed staff revisions and a brief review; the board adopted the budget and then adopted the tax rate as presented. The board’s formal adoption completes the district’s budget and tax‑rate process for the 2025 tax year.
