Standard Waste seeks approval to store trash trucks at 209 William Street

Standard Waste Services presented a site-plan waiver request to the Borough of South River Planning Board on Sept. 17 to store trash-collection vehicles, empty dumpsters and roll-off containers at 209 William Street and to remove two existing pole barns while keeping an on-site office building. Attorney George Pressler represented the applicant; Steve Fino, identified as the applicant, said the site will be exclusively for parking and storage and not for repairs, vehicle washing or public access.
Planner Todd Bletcher told the board he could perform a complete planning review based on the submitted materials and did not object to the applicant's requested checklist waivers. Engineer Bruce Koch requested that floodway limits be shown on the plans and confirmed, based on the applicant's engineer, that the two light posts will be removed and no additional light fixtures will be installed. In describing operations, Fino told the board: "this site is strictly for truck storage." The board voted to deem File PB#2023-06 complete and to carry the application to the Oct. 15, 2024 public hearing for full review.
