Superintendent Dr. Burks presented an option to make a partial payment to K12 Virtual Schools, LLC while the district awaits an independent audit; Trustee Jacob Tiemann moved and Trustee Eloy Herrera seconded a motion to approve a partial payment of $50 million dollars to K12 Virtual Schools. The motion carried 6–0 with one trustee absent.
Trustees also approved a budget amendment to account for weight equipment that was ordered previously and received during the Thanksgiving break; Dr. Burks said the equipment was not included in the 2025–26 budget. Trustee Drew Moses moved the amendment and Trustee Jacob Tiemann seconded; the motion carried. Finally, the board voted to post the superintendent's job internally starting Dec. 16, 2025, with applications due by close of business Jan. 5, 2026; Trustee Eloy Herrera moved the posting and Trustee Jacob Tiemann seconded.
