Ropes ISD’s Board of Trustees approved a resolution and authorized a contract to purchase the property known as the Ropesville Little League Field at 602 Main Street from the City of Ropesville. The board also authorized the superintendent and/or board president to execute documents necessary to complete the purchase.
The deed will include a reverter provision requiring that the real property be used in the future solely and expressly for park and athletic-field purposes. The motion to adopt the resolution and contract was made by Blake Thrash and seconded by Keila Ketchersid; the vote was recorded as 7–0 in favor.
Board members also authorized the superintendent to execute a separate Underwood Law Firm document titled “Consent to Multiple Representation pertaining to Purchase and Sale of Park” to permit legal representation associated with the transaction. No public opposition or alternate purchasers were recorded in the meeting minutes.
