Rusk ISD casts appraisal-district ballots for Chris Work, Clifford Harkless
Summary
On Nov. 10 the Rusk ISD Board cast its Cherokee Central Appraisal District ballot (328 votes) for trustee candidate Chris Work and cast all seven Rusk County Appraisal District votes for Clifford Harkless; both motions passed 7–0.
The Board considered resolutions to cast the district’s ballots for two appraisal-district boards. Trustee Nathan Acker moved to cast all 328 Cherokee Central Appraisal District votes for Chris Work; the motion carried 7–0. Later, Trustee Chris Work moved (seconded by Dr. Montie Sunday) to cast all seven Rusk County Appraisal District votes for Clifford Harkless; that motion also passed unanimously.
Both ballot-casting resolutions were recorded as carried in the minutes. The Cherokee Central ballot item specifically references a 328-vote allotment; the Rusk County item records the Board’s seven votes for the 2026–2027 appraisal-district board.
