Trustee Jacob Tiemann moved and Trustee Drew Moses seconded a motion to move into a closed session under Texas Government Code Chapter 551; the motion carried Yea 6, Nay 0, Absent 1 (Marcial Saenz). The board later returned to open session on a motion by Trustee James Arnwine, seconded by Trustee Drew Moses, which also carried Yea 6, Nay 0, Absent 1.
Following reconvening, Trustee Drew Moses moved and Trustee Jacob Tiemann seconded the motion that named Rose Burks as the lone finalist for superintendent and authorized the board president to negotiate her contract; that motion carried Yea 6, Nay 0, Absent 1. The meeting was then adjourned on a motion by Trustee Drew Moses, seconded by Trustee Eloy Herrera, carried by the same tally.
