CFO says Raymondville ISD has met with 60% of campuses as district races to present balanced 2026–27 budget

Raymondville Independent School District Chief Financial Officer David Longoria told the Board of Trustees on April 14 that staff are actively reviewing this year’s finances and meeting with campus and department leaders as part of next year’s budget planning. "RISD Business Office personnel has met with sixty percent of the campuses/department heads," Longoria said, and staff will complete the remaining meetings over the next couple of weeks.
Longoria said the district is working to close the current fiscal year and present a balanced budget for the 2026–27 school year. He outlined a schedule of additional workshops "before the Regular Meeting in June and again at the end of June before a Special Meeting" to finalize budget proposals, and told trustees the business office will continue outreach to departments and campuses during that period. Board President John L. Solis opened the floor for questions; none were asked during the workshop.
The board took no substantive votes on budget allocations at the workshop. Trustees moved to adjourn at 6:04 p.m.; a motion to adjourn made by Trustee Javier Longoria and seconded by Trustee Leticia T. Guzman passed with six yea votes and one absence. The workshop record was signed by Secretary Christie Ambriz and Board President John L. Solis, III.
