Jason Anderson, commander of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 27, updated the commissioners on plans for a veterans Stand Down and resource fair scheduled for Nov. 1, 2026. He listed confirmed in-kind partners and services, including transportation, meals, hygiene kits, medical assessments, job placement assistance, and housing-related services.
Anderson said the event would be repeatable and that the group would present a binder with electronic data to the commissioners after the event. "The stand down will be in the morning, will be from 09:30 to 11:30, and then the resource fair... will be, from noon to 2," he said. He noted the next virtual planning meeting is Aug. 21 and promised a final update in October before the event.
Commissioners thanked Anderson for the work and the volunteer and partner commitments.
