The Darlington Community School District board confirmed multiple personnel hires after returning from executive session at its May 13 meeting.
"Motion by Crist, seconded by Stauffacher, to hire Jordan Rolland as an Assistant Football Coach. Motion carried," the minutes state. The board also hired Will Schwartz as head varsity boys basketball coach and approved a group of summer cleaners (Cagyn Paisly, Sean McGranahan, Amanda Risser, Stacey Hutchcroft, Meegan Ritchie and Courtney Moncrief). Appointments to support the district's performing arts programs and student work programs were also approved: DJ Benischek as tech director for light and sound; Jimmy Whitcomb as spring play director; Jaycie Schliem as assistant musical director; Lily King and Aiko Campos as 4K assistants; and Jennifer Alonso and Jonas Lobato-Sayago as ESL assistants under the School-To-Work program.
The board approved Brady Horne as a high school Tech Ed teacher, with the minutes noting Zuberbuhler abstained on that motion. One hiring item—an agriculture teacher—remained tabled.
