City accepts six county tax-deeded lots for infill development, authorizes lien releases

Staff presented six properties recently deeded to the city via the county treasurer’s resale tax process and requested authorization to file municipal lien releases so the parcels can be offered to developers or builders. "These are the 6 properties that I brought to city council on our new business on May 26... the county has already deeded those over to us," staff said.
Council discussed zoning (R-1B), the city’s intent to require development within a set timeframe to avoid land-banking and the possibility of multiple single-family units on larger lots. Staff said they will draft an RFP for experienced home builders and will coordinate with the city attorney and local lenders to ensure terms are feasible.
