Rusk ISD trustees approve publication of proposed 2025–26 tax rate, set Aug. 26 public meeting

Stacie Young, chief financial officer for Rusk Independent School District, asked the board to publish the proposed 2025–26 tax rate, explaining that "the TY 2025 Total M&O tax rate is $0.6669 and the I&S rate is $0.1148, for a total Voter Approval Tax Rate of $0.7817." Trustees approved the administration's recommendation in a 7–0 vote.
The board also scheduled a public meeting to review the budget and the proposed tax rate for Aug. 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Administration Building board room. Nathan Acker moved to set the meeting and Dr. Montie Sunday seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The meeting provides an opportunity for community members to ask questions about the budget and rate before any final action by the board.
