Round Top-Carmine ISD’s Board of Trustees met in regular session on Feb. 23, 2026. President Michael Sacks called the meeting to order at 6:18 PM and the board established a quorum.
The board approved its consent agenda — including previous meeting minutes, campus reports and Superintendent reports — on a motion by Trustee Bryn Behnke with a second from Trustee Kyle Fricke; the minutes state the motion "carried" but do not include a roll-call vote tally. Trustees also approved expedited waivers from the Texas Education Agency for staff development in Reading/English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and/or Social Studies on a motion by Trustee Brandon Pieper with a second from Trustee Owen Massey; that motion likewise "carried" and no vote count is recorded.
Trustees approved the 2026–2027 school calendar on a motion by Trustee Kyle Fricke, seconded by Trustee Bryn Behnke, and approved a proposal from Reeves for a house removal on a motion by Trustee Owen Massey, seconded by Trustee Kyle Fricke; both motions are recorded as "carried" without documented tallies. The board reviewed accounts payable from January 2026 and discussed preliminary property study values released by the comptroller but took no action on either item.
The board recessed to closed session at 7:13 PM (motion carried) and returned to open session at 8:10 PM; a motion to adjourn by Trustee Kyle Fricke, seconded by Trustee Brandon Pieper, carried at 8:10 PM.
