Board approves new math and bilingual instructional materials for next school year

Trustees approved Bluebonnet Learning Geometry and Algebra II textbooks and a set of bilingual PreK/K materials (Uno, dos, tres Prekinder!, Arriba la Lectura!, Matematicas Grado K, Spanish versions of Savvas Science and Texas Weekly) to be purchased with Instructional Materials Allotment funds.
The Rockdale ISD Board approved adoption of Bluebonnet Learning Geometry and Algebra II instructional materials and a package of bilingual materials for Prekindergarten and Kindergarten on May 18, 2026. The math materials were approved in a motion by Jason Barcak, seconded by Amy Casas; the bilingual materials motion was made by Jason Barcak and seconded by Janice Keen (both motions recorded as carrying 6 For, 0 Against).
Board members noted the materials were reviewed for grade-level appropriateness and alignment with Texas state standards. The district will use Instructional Materials Allotment funds to purchase the approved bilingual resources for PreK and Kindergarten.
