San Saba ISD board approves consent agenda, improvement plans and personnel actions

The San Saba Independent School District Board of Trustees met on Oct. 13, 2025, and approved several routine and substantive items, including the consent agenda and campus and district improvement plans. Vice President Tim Sebastain called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.; after routine business the board entered executive session and returned to approve guardians as discussed in closed session.
The consent agenda—covering approval of the Sept. 8 meeting minutes, amendments to the 2025–26 budget as needed, payment of bills, the investment and financial report, and acceptance of donations—was approved on a motion by Kristen Nelson with a second from Rusty Glover. At the time of the consent-agenda vote two trustees were absent (Stuart Isham and Kevin Shahan), and the motion passed 5–0 with two absences. "Motion to approve Consent Agenda as presented," the board recorded.
Later in the meeting the board voted to adopt the Campus and District Improvement Plans on a motion from Jake Lackey, seconded by Donny Smith; and approved a Good Cause Exception on a motion from Rusty Glover, seconded by Jake Lackey. Both motions passed with the same attendance pattern (five yea, two absent). After an executive session that listed personnel, student-discipline, property, and legal consultation items under Texas Government Code Sections 551.001–551.146, the board returned and approved guardians as presented; that motion, made by Kristen Nelson and seconded by Rusty Glover, passed 6–0 with one absence (Stuart Isham).
The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m. on a motion by Jake Lackey seconded by Rusty Glover.
