SAN ISIDRO, Texas โ The San Isidro ISD Board of Trustees voted Feb. 25 to approve a resolution authorizing the district to apply for funding through the State Homeland Security Program.
Superintendent Elsa Morris presented the resolution and explained that approval would allow the district to submit a grant application and "did not constitute acceptance of funds." Discussion noted potential uses of grant funds for campus safety-related needs.
Trustee David Garza moved to approve the resolution; Trustee Ricardo Vela seconded. The motion passed 6-0 with Albino Alaniz Jr. absent. The approval authorizes staff to pursue an application; any acceptance of funds would follow separate approvals and procedures if an award is offered.
