No public comments as Sabine Pass ISD board finalizes budget and tax rate

The Sabine Pass ISD board held a special meeting on Aug. 18, 2025 to consider the district budget and the proposed tax rate for 2026. The agenda opened with a public hearing invitation, but the record notes "No Public Comments." President Phyllis Almond called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m.
During the meeting trustees adopted the administration-prepared Budget Resolution and later approved an ordinance setting the 2026 tax rate at $0.93229 per $100 valuation (M&O $0.64890; I&S $0.28339). Both actions passed 4-0; Ethan Blood, Jenny Blood and Charlene Deslatte were recorded as absent. The meeting adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
