Comal County Public Health reports immunizations, approves DSHS grant amendment and a Canyon Lake clinic MOU

Comal County Public Health gave its April update on May 8 and asked the commissioners to approve two items expanding local health services.
Public Health reported 249 immunizations, 11 laboratory tests, and 234 notifiable conditions in April that led to 54 epidemiologic investigations and 27 confirmed conditions; staff urged residents who are unvaccinated to call Public Health at (830) 221-1150 to book an appointment. Public Health staff said Amendment 2 to a Department of State Health Services contract (HHS 001439500019) updates the statement of work for the PGP grant and requested authorization for the county judge to sign electronically; commissioners approved the amendment.
Health staff also presented a memorandum of understanding with the Canyon Lake Community Resource and Recreation Center to host clinics on the first Wednesday of each month at the CRRC (facility provided free of charge) to make services more local; the court approved the MOU.
