President Phyllis Almond opened the Sabine Pass ISD regular meeting Tuesday and turned to the superintendent's report, where Mrs. Heid provided multiple operational updates for the 2025–26 school year.
Mrs. Heid said the district's new building is on schedule: "We are set for our building to be finished by September 2026." She also described a student food support initiative: "We will be sending every student home each Friday with a breakfast and supper for both Saturday and Sunday." The superintendent added that the district's shop class finished making a "Blessing Box" that will be placed at the Sabine Pass Community Center and that the building's security system "works great."
