Randolph Elementary reports strong STAAR results, announces free STEM and Fine Arts camps

Principal Tracey Bandy told the board that Randolph Elementary concluded the year with robust academic and extracurricular activity and highlighted performance on STAAR assessments.
"Campus-wide, 95% of students tested proficient in reading and in 5th grade 97% were proficient, while 50% of the students scored mastered," Bandy reported, noting that math scores for all but one grade exceeded 90% and that every grade showed improvement.
Bandy summarized end-of-year activities, including high-school volunteers reading U.S. history to elementary students, field trips (including a Build-a-Bear trip for children of deployed parents), field days, and the first Elementary Talent Show. She also announced two free summer camps for Randolph students: a STEM camp hosting 120 students and a Fine Arts/Cultural camp expected to host 100 students.
