At the Santa Rosa ISD special "Meet the Superintendent" meeting on Jan. 16, 2025, public commenter Rene Rangel welcomed Dr. Isaac Rodriguez and urged the board and district to prioritize transparency and expanded academic opportunities. "We are taxpayers and stakeholders, and we want transparency," Rangel said. He also urged increasing dual‑enrollment classes so students "can graduate with 30 or 40 hours so they can continue college."
Meeting staff read the district's public‑comment procedures: speakers are allotted three minutes each and must sign up by emailing public-comments@srtx.org between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. on the meeting date; the board does not respond or deliberate during public comment, per Board Policy BED (local). No board deliberation or decision followed Rangel's remarks during the meeting.
