The Santa Rosa Independent School District Board of Trustees introduced Dr. Isaac Rodriguez as the district's new superintendent at a special meeting on Jan. 16, 2025. Board President Kelly R. Ballin formally presented Rodriguez as the board's lone finalist at the start of the "Meet the Superintendent" event.
Dr. Isaac Rodriguez told attendees he started in the role on Monday and thanked the board and the community for the reception. He said he grew up nearby and attended La Feria High School and that he previously served as superintendent in Monte Alto. "My door is always open. I have an open‑door policy," Rodriguez said, adding, "I love watching students compete in Athletic and Academic. Let's go Warriors." The board did not take any formal action during the meeting beyond the public introduction.
Ballin said the board selected Rodriguez based on his vision and passion for the district. The meeting, held in the Jesus T. Avila Middle School Chepe Gym, included a brief public‑comment period and adjourned at approximately 6:53 p.m.
