Comal County Public Health reported ongoing employee training and an emergency-preparedness exercise during the March 20 meeting.
Miss Frasier told the court the county is offering American Heart Association CPR, first aid, basic life support, AED, "Stop the Bleed," and Narcan training at the Goodwin Annex on the third Wednesday of each month. The training is open to county employees and is required once every two years to remain certified; managers and directors were asked to send new employees as appropriate.
She also reported the county's Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) team conducted a drive-through setup to practice distribution of pills, noting the exercise built on the county's COVID vaccine experience. The practice setup was described as successful, and public health staff will close services to the public temporarily for another drill at a different location.
The court thanked public health staff for the update and took no formal action on the report.
