Sanilac County board confirms wide slate of appointments to advisory boards and committees

The board moved and seconded successive slates, approving appointments to the Appeals Board of Construction (Jeremy Bender, Orm Campbell, Norm Blank, Eric Merriman, Jerome Ford — two-year terms expiring 12/31/2026), a soil-erosion appeals board (John Bauski, Rick Ball, Robert Pattalo, Rob Falls), the Board of Public Works (Ron Gerstenberger named road commission representative, three-year term expiring 12/31/2027) and a central dispatch advisory board (Paul Rich, Lt. Macomb, Mark Davidson, Charles Busch, Steve Bales, Leah Lentz, Ron Buckmaster, Don Cubitt, Greg Holman). Each slate was moved, supported and carried by voice vote.
Other appointments approved included a drug task force representative (Larry Sheldon as police chief association representative for a one-year term), the information technology planning committee (Don Cubitt, Tracy Franzel, Leslie Hillbine, Nathan Smith, Nancy Rich, Nathan Roski for one-year terms), emergency management and related committee assignments, and the soil erosion and sedimentation control board. Motions were recorded as carried; term expirations and representative roles were read for the public record.
Commissioners also reviewed and confirmed the roster of commissioner appointments to standing county committees and external boards (budget, parks, planning commission, FOIA coordinators, etc.). No public comments were made during the appointments portion of the meeting.
