Seguin Independent School District trustees participated in a Team of 8 governance training on Feb. 3, 2026, at the district's board room, 1221 E. Kingsbury. The session was facilitated by Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) consultants Orin Moore and Dax Gonzalez to review the board's self-assessments and identify next steps for board development. The meeting opened at 6:02 p.m., and a quorum was established.
The training focused on the board's self-assessment results and guidance for next steps in board development and governance practice. Minutes record that the board recessed from 7:18 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and then resumed the training. No members of the public signed up to speak during the public comment period. The meeting adjourned at 8:12 p.m. after a motion to adjourn by Joshua Bright and a second from Alejandro R. Guerra; the recorded ayes were Bright, Burns, Crettenden, Duncan, Dwyer, Guerra and Mueller and there were no nays.
Present at the session were trustees Joshua Bright, Lisa Burns, Denise Crettenden, Linda Duncan, William Dwyer, Alejandro R. Guerra and Grace Mueller; district Superintendent Dr. Jack Lee; TASB consultant Orin Moore; and Nancy Ramirez, superintendent secretary. The minutes note that the meeting had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Section 551.043 of the Texas Government Code.
