Lisa Burns moved to adopt the committee’s recommendations, and Joshua Bright seconded. The board approved keeping the titles "Forever," "The Handmaid's Tale," "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," and "Burned" in district library collections. In a subsequent motion Mrs. Burns, seconded by Ms. Duncan, the board voted to remove "What Girls Are Made Of" from the approved list. The motions passed with Ayes recorded as Bright, Burns, Crettenden, Duncan, Dwyer, Guerra, and Mueller and no Nays.
The actions followed public interest in agenda item 9A; three community members—James Ransdell, Susan A. Lee, and Lynette Leanox—had signed up to address the board on the library materials item.
