Lake Como council clears four special-event permits including St. Patrick’s Day parade and Kilt Run

On Feb. 4, 2025 the Lake Como Mayor and Council approved four special-event applications on a single roll-call vote. The permits cover the Belmar Lake Como St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Kilt Run, the JSRC Spring Break 5K and the Belmar Five Mile Run. The vote recorded Yes from Councilmembers Witte, Scull, D'Antuono, Ventrice and Albala-Doyle; Councilman DeMauro was absent.
Council members previously heard a brief operational announcement from Chief Scott that the Cupid’s Chase 5K will begin and end at Bar Anticipation this weekend; the police department and first responders were recognized earlier for their response to a recent 14th Avenue fire. The council did not receive public comment on the special-events approvals.
