The Borough of Lake Como on Feb. 4, 2025 approved Resolution 2025-46 appointing a Certified Municipal Finance Officer. The resolution was offered by Councilman Christopher D'Antuono and seconded by Councilwoman Heather Albala-Doyle; the roll-call vote recorded Yes from Councilmembers Witte, Scull, D'Antuono, Ventrice and Albala-Doyle, with Councilman Nicholas DeMauro absent.
Mayor Higgins commented on the appointment, saying, "the CMFO exam is very difficult with a very low pass rate and not only did Samantha pass it on her first try, she got a 100% on her first try." The council did not receive public comment on the appointment. The action formally assigns municipal finance responsibilities to the appointee under Borough records.
