Mayor John Higgins reported several operational concerns to the Borough Council at its Jan. 21 meeting, saying potholes will be fixed when weather permits and the borough will work with businesses and the Department of Public Works to reduce litter in town.
Borough Administrator Andrew Huisman said, "this Thursday, JCP&L will be going through town with the police to fix those lights." Higgins also confirmed the borough's shared emergency medical services agreement with Belmar remains in effect. He reported that hotel tax revenue through November 2024 totaled $51,980.75.
The mayor listed the items after a well-attended "Coffee with the Mayor" session, noting the reports reflected resident concerns. The council did not take formal action on these items at the meeting but recorded plans for DPW and coordination with utilities and local businesses.
