Trustees on May 20 approved multiple fiscal actions after reviewing tax collector and expenditure reports and condition-of-funds statements. Superintendent Elsa Morris presented budget amendments related to grant management, insurance reimbursements, travel, guardian stipends and other operational needs; the board approved the amendments by a recorded vote (Yea: 7, Nay: 0).
The board also approved increasing the district’s monthly insurance contribution to $325 per employee after Morris provided comparative regional data. In separate action, trustees approved purchasing a 2026 full-size 8-passenger SUV from Escamilla Chevrolet for $65,184.17 to support student and staff transportation needs. Both motions passed with recorded unanimous votes where noted.
