The San Elizario Independent School District District School Safety and Security Committee met on Jan. 21, 2026, approved the Oct. 22, 2025 minutes, and received scheduling updates for district safety work.
A motion to approve the Oct. 22, 2025 minutes was made by Myrna Hernandez, seconded by Susana Frescas, and the motion passed. Committee staff member Jose Cardona told the panel the district’s three-year safety and security audit will begin in April 2026 and that mandatory Psychological First Aid training for committee members is scheduled for March 13, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the location to be determined and training provided by Region 19. Cardona said, “The training is scheduled for March 13, 2026, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.”
Committee members also heard reminders about Behavioral Threat Assessment compliance and operational updates about how the district documents safety checks. The committee set its next meeting for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 6:04 p.m. after a motion by Blanca Cruz, seconded by Julissa Esquivel.
