The Select Board authorized a one-time $614.17 expense to purchase ornamental buoys and rope for the Mill Pond footbridge, funded from the Footbridge Reserve account.
Shannon explained the dam keeper requested ornamental 5-by-9-inch white, red and blue floats and associated rope; the reserve account balance cited was $1,346.21. Board members discussed durability and winter removal; one member cautioned that earlier buoys were left out during winter and often got destroyed. After discussion, a motion to approve the expense and authorize payment from the footbridge reserve was moved, seconded and carried 5–0.
Next steps: staff will purchase the buoys and manage winter removal and storage as recommended by the dam keeper and public-works staff.
