Shannon, the town manager, told the board the payroll increase reflects “five additional summer counselors for the Ladd Rec Center summer programs.” Board members then moved, seconded and approved payroll number 2. Later the board approved accounts payable warrant number 3, which Shannon said includes “the first monthly installment for the regional school district,” Maine Municipal Association insurance and annual software fees; the warrant was placed at $316,787.69 and approved by the board.
The board also approved accounts payable warrant number 4 (a later-added initial payment for tree trimming and routine motor-vehicle fees) in the amount of $7,520.62 after a brief check of a rounding discrepancy in the agenda recap. Chair noted the warrant on the agenda and the warrant to be approved differed by a few cents and confirmed the warrant amount to be approved was correct.
What happens next: approved warrants will be processed through the town’s accounts-payable cycle. The town manager and staff will continue to present warrant details at future meetings to keep the board apprised of large expenditures and grant-funded items.
