On April 28, 2026, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Gluckstadt voted unanimously to recommend that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen approve a site plan amendment for The Oaks Memory Care at 654 Calhoun Station Parkway. Caine Dearman presented the amendment and stated, "the Applicant is requesting approval of a site plan amendment for The Oaks Memory Care." The amendment proposes the addition of an 11,000-square-foot facility and an adjustment to the existing retention pond.
City staff told commissioners that the City Engineer has approved the redesigned retention pond and that the additional facility has been approved by the Architectural Review Committee (ARC). Commissioners were also told that parking will remain the same and is sufficient for the expanded facility. Mr. Chad Phillips attended on behalf of the applicant to answer questions. Commissioner Kayce Saik moved to recommend approval; Commissioner Phillips King seconded, and the commission voted unanimously. The commission noted no conditions beyond the materials presented. The commission's next regular meeting is scheduled for May 26, 2026.
