The Shreveport City Council on the dais adopted a resolution recognizing Orville Hall and Philip Price for their contributions to the music industry, noting the pair’s credited work on the 1986 recording behind the Triggerman sound and downstream credits on the song “Outside.” Madam Chair read the resolution and asked the honorees to come forward for recognition.
“It would be an understatement to say that we are extremely proud of you and what you have contributed to the music industry,” the chair said during the recognition. Council members and the mayor offered congratulations and connected the artists’ work to the evolution of Louisiana’s bounce music.
During public comment, Craig Lee told the council that Hall and Price were catalysts for a major local economic development project and credited their influence in recruiting national acts to the city. The council approved Resolution 73 recognizing the musicians; the motion was made and passed during the regular agenda.
