After returning from closed session, trustees accepted the administration’s recommendations to renew professional employee contracts for 2026–27, subject to assignment and certification requirements.
Assistant Superintendent Chris Carpenter presented the 2026–27 Allotment & TEKS certification. The certification confirms that students will have access to instructional materials covering the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and that the district complies with the Children's Internet Protection Act. Kara Newcomb moved to approve both the contract renewals and the Allotment & TEKS certification; motions to approve carried by recorded votes of 4–0.
Board President Carlos Bentancourt also reminded trustees that his annual report on members' continuing education hours is available on the district website. The minutes list the approvals but do not include detailed contract terms or individual employee names.
