Slaton ISD approves TASB insurance package at $393,108, citing 4% premium increase

Art Martin presented the Texas Association of School Boards insurance proposal covering property, auto, liability and privacy/information security for the 2026–2027 policy year and said "the increase in cost is a 4% increase from last year." Jaime Diaz moved to approve the combined premium of $393,108; Kara Newcomb seconded and the motion carried unanimously (4-0).
Board members did not request changes to coverage during the public discussion. The approval obligates the district to the presented premium for the forthcoming policy year and will be recorded in district financials.
