Committee reports noted a VTA grant would fund a new ferry-dock bus shelter for the Tisbury ferry dock; the grant covers installation but the town is responsible for maintenance and cleaning. VTA Director Angie Gompers estimated Park & Ride repaving at $400,000 using VTA discounted rates, substantially higher than the $30,000 Embarkation and $30,000 DPW asks. FinCom noted the Steamship Authority had not signed the annual embarkation agreement for two years, which may require coordination among SSA, VTA and the Town.
Members asked the chair to contact relevant staff and agencies to clarify responsibilities and potential VTA discounts; the topic will be on future agendas when budgets are finalized.
