Residents press council on splash-pad removal and future plans; public meeting set for August

Multiple residents raised safety concerns about the borough’s splash-pad area and asked the council to remove equipment they said posed hazards. Tony Musso said the existing splash-pad infrastructure “is not able to be used so it would have to be totally removed due to safety issues—both environmentally and humanly,” and council members agreed the area needs a decision.
Ian Montgomery spoke on behalf of several supporters asking for clarity on splash-pad plans. The council scheduled a public splash-pad discussion for Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. to solicit resident input on what should replace or occupy the space. Residents asked whether temporary or donated volunteer labor could help provide activities for children if the current equipment is removed; council members said the borough must decide the future use of the site before committing to volunteer-supported options.
